A Shocking Letter to President Obama – Regarding Israel…

Great letter written and sent to President Obama. One of our most popular blog entries…

The letter is a bit lengthy – but it clearly illustrates the dramatic nature of the negative impact President Obama’s actions are having on thinking Americans who value our country’s relationship with Israel.

President Barack Obama

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW

Washington, D.C., DC 20500

May 22, 2011

Dear Mr. President:

I was your advocate when you were a senator from Illinois; a strong campaigner for you during your presidential run, and one who voted for you as President of the United States. I was mesmerized by your articulation and I believed you when you said you stood for a safe and secure Israel. Just goes to show you how naïve I am, even as a 76 year old citizen.

I cannot remember when I was ever more disappointed with an individual – whether in private or public life. Your presidency was greeted with perhaps the most difficult scenario ever facing an individual as he ascended to the highest office in the land.

Yet we had faith in you and that you were indeed the man to address the ills of our nation. Naivete on our part, at it’s highest level!

Mr. President I don’t really know where you are getting your advice from when itcomes to the State of Israel, and in particular with their relationship –or lack thereof – with the Palestinian People.

The “Palestinians” are a People that did not exist as an entity, until the Arabnations asked them to leave their homes after the creation of the State of Israel in 1948, after which these same Arab countries said they would drive the Jews into the sea.

History has shown that it did not happen exactly as planned, resulting in the creation of the Arab Refugee Camps. Camps, which to this day, still remain as they were in the late 40’s/early 50’s.

Not a single Arab country offered to take these people into their countries – obviously, nobody wanted them or had any desire to help them.

Compare that to the State of Israel and the manner in which they address Jewswho need to emigrate to Israel. There is a saying in Hebrew, that reads. “kol Yisrael aroviim ze b’ze.” – All Jews are responsible for one another. Therein lies the difference between the Jews and the Arabs.

The State of Israel has been attacked regularly by the Arab nations with the hope of overrunning Israel and driving the Jews into the sea. Again, things did not go exactly as planned and yet Israel continued to seek a peaceful relationship and co-existence with her Arab neighbors.

All the while, to this very day, the PLO and the many factions thereof continue to attack the civilian population of Israel with terrorist attacks, claiming the lives of innocent women and children along the way.

Israel has made magnanimous gestures of peace to the Palestinians and Arab factions supporting the destruction of Israel. Each of these genuine offers of land for peace was met with lies and terror; rockets fired into civilian areas; busses bombed and burned; cafes bombed by suicide bombers…all in response to an offer of peace.

The Palestinians do not want peace – they have demonstrated this for decades. They want the total destruction of Israel and the elimination of all Jewish entities from that tiny but great land.

In all of the years Palestine was under Arab control, there was no progress in the way of building schools, hospitals, an infrastructure or anything that resembled progress. After 1948 Israel’s deserts began to bloom and the cities grew exponentially at a pace far exceeding the growth in her Arab neighboring. Schools and hospitals grew with the population, becoming thefoundation for the superior educational system within Israel.

Israel’s economy, in spite of an enormous defense budget necessitated by theconstant attacks on her by her Arab neighbors, continues to grow and prosper. The land occupied by the Palestinians, meanwhile, remained the rubble it was from day one, with no attempt to clean it up and develop the living conditions therein.

This became the self proclaimed poster child for the Arab people showing how Israel “did this to them”. WOW! And some people actually believed that!?

It is only the infusion of billions of dollars from the US and Europeancountries that have allowed the infrastructure in Gaza to grow under the leadership of Mr. Fayad.

A look at the prayer books in synagogues around the world quickly shows you that the Jewish People pray for peace and life itself, for all Peoples. They ask that weapons be turned into plowshares and that no nation rise up against another nation in war, but that all nations should live together in peace.

Hamas’s mission is the complete destruction of Israel, even at the expense of their own women and children used as suicide bombers. What People in their right minds happily send their children off to die in this manner. The Israelis value life beyond description and the Arabs have no regard for life at all.

There is an old saying: “If the Arabs laid down their arms, there would be peace throughout the region. If the Israelis laid down their weapons, they would be annihilated.” Therein lies a major difference between the two Peoples.

The two-state solution you seek is a joke, by any definition. Hamas is sworn to the destruction of Israel and refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish State.

Yet, you, Mr. President continue to pressure Israel to give up more land and make unreasonable concessions in the name of peace. Whose peace? – yours? Certainly not Israel’s. This would only be a step closer to the destruction of Israel.

Jerusalem is not mentioned a single time in the Quoran. On the other hand, I believe it is mentioned 667 times in the Bible. When the Muslims are at prayer they turn their backs to Jerusalem, facing Mecca. On what grounds can you possibly believe that the Palestinians have any legitimate claim at all on any part of Jerusalem?

Yet, you now ask for a peace initiative based on Israel returning to the pre-1967 borders. What in the world are you smoking?

Now I do not mean to imply that all Palestinians base their hopes on terror and the destruction of Israel. The problem is, that those in favor of a true peace are not strong enough to silence the voices and efforts of those bent on the destruction of Israel.

Nothing would please us more than to see both nations living side by side, prospering in life, as peaceful neighbors. However, that takes an equal and total commitment from all of the Palestinians and their Arab neighbors before you can talk about peace in a meaningful manner. Israel is entitled to defensible borders, safety and security and the recognition that  exist as a sovereign Jewish state.

Israel has built a nation of humanitarians and has given the world morebrainpower and technological advances than virtually any other nation in the world. A simple look at the Nobel Prize winners from Israel vs. all Arab nations combined will substantiate that fact. Education is a main focus in Israel – death and terrorism take the lead role among the Palestinians and surrounding Arab nations.

You are quick to tell Israel to show restraint when their communities are shelled by rockets from Gaza and southern areas of Lebanon. How much restraint you show if Detroit or Texas were fired upon by Canada or Mexico? You speak out of both sides of your mouth, Mr. President, when you espouse restraint for Israel and war for the United States, whether here or in Afghanistan or Iraq.

You are very free with telling Israel where their borders should be and what territory they must give up as an “occupying nation”. When the United States returns Texas and California to the Mexicans, and other lands taken from the American Indians, then you would be in a position to voice such opinions.

However, you do not have the right to dictate to another sovereign nation how and where they should live, or what their borders should be.

Israel is a sovereign nation, and the best friend the United States of America has in the world. Israel’s “occupied lands” as you call them, were territories captured and annexed when the Arab nations attacked Israel with the intention of Israel’s complete annihilation.

These are not “occupied territories”, they are lands captured in war, just as are lands captured by any other country in a similar situation. Why is Israel so different and why must Israel be judged by different criteria than any other nation? A quick look at the history of the world will reinforce that statement throughout time.

You have one country encapsulated with the beauty of life and another country whose way of life is wrapped up in the glory of death. And you continue to pressure Israel to give this up, give that up and stop being to intransigent.

Stop building settlements in Jerusalem because there is a group who wants tomake peace but refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist. Why not just ask them to go back to the camps in Europe? That makes just as much sense as your current line of thought.

You ascended to the heights of the presidency of the United States, partly on your pledge to stand by Israel and protect her right to survive in a sea of enemies. The Jews of America – and the world – believed you.

Shame on you! Shame on us and even more so if we are so stupid as to believe you or vote for you again.

There is an old saying: “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” Time’s up, Mr. President!

There is a black cloud hanging over your persona, Mr. President, and it gets darker each day. You are a major disappointment on many fronts – moreover, you have lost our votes. We thought you had the courage and the presence of mind to do what is right…how wrong we were.

Sincerely yours,

Arthur Stark
